Hello all!
I want to thank everybody who has viewed my work. I especially want to thank all the great people who actually wanted to watch me or took time to comment on my stuff or add it to their favourites....I really appreciate it! My work has been viewed almost 4000 times and I never thought that would happen.
When I first picked up my first DSLR back in the summertime...I felt somewhat discouraged about whether or not I was going to be able to really get into photography. But because of everybody's support, I have felt compelled to keep at it and keep learning new tricks and techniques. I also hope to eventually purchase a high-end camera within a year or so.
Thank you for the support everyone! You guys all are awesome!

Now for some thoughts on Deviantart.com
In my 4 months here so far...I have been impressed by the talent of countless individuals out there with their many forms of art, creativity, and expression. I also have been dismayed and disappointed with some of the material that passes as art here on this website.
I will say that this is my opinion and nobody is entitled to it...but I felt I should say something about the issue. I DO understand that art is expressed in a huge variety of forms.
Here are some things I do not like to see...
1. The "Myspace" self-portrait. (I think you ALL know what this is.)
2. Distasteful nude photography. (There is a huge amount of this on Deviantart....I am not a prude and I find the human physique to be an amazing thing. But I have seen so much raunchy material that could very well be passed as pornography. Any nude photograph that simply appeals to lust and the viewer's sex appeal is in my opinion....not art. It is an exploitation of the model.)
3. Demotivational Posters. (Some are hilarious, but they don't belong on this website.)

Again, this is just my opinion. Please feel free to disagree.
